Meet Betty the Bullsnake and Vern the Box Turtle, Standley. Lake’s animal ambassadors! Connecting with our animal friends reveals what makes them special and why all reptiles are a valuable part of the park’s ecosystem. ALL AGES

Event Description:

Cast off into this program intended to teach the basics of fishing. Children will learn about native fish, how to bait a hook,
tie a lure and cast a line. Poles available for use during the program, or bring your own! AGES: 8-12.

The prairie dogs are beloved wildlife at Standley Lake and they have learned to adapt to the often perilous prairie. Join the park naturalist and visit the largest prairie dog town on the north side of the park to observe the complex lifestyle of these intelligent rodents. ALL AGES
