Looking through this great website and hoping that it will meet our needs now and into the future as we attempt to build awareness about our program offerings throughout the community.  Plug in to Nature, a study conducted in 2011 indicated that citizens were interested in this kind of single source website for event information, so we are extremely excited to particpate.

Event Description:

Tiny Trekkers programs are for you and your toddler. These programs occur on the 1st Tuesday of each month. Each program takes a different nature theme and includes activities, crafts, stories and more! Help your little one get into nature early with these fun and engaging programs, and afterwards you can even walk some of the easy trails at the site.

What to Bring: Please make sure you and your little one have sturdy shoes, appropriate clothing for the weather, water, and protection from the sun.

The Boulder County Parks and Open Space Rangers want to help you be safe and prepared for all the adventures the cold weather can bring. Join us for a day of fun as you complete winter challenges and become a Junior Ranger!

Event Description:

Join a naturalist on a moonlit exploration of Devil’s Backbone Open Space, located just west of Loveland off of Hwy 34. Learn all about humankind’s relationship with the moon and its effect on nocturnal wildlife on this moderate two-mile round trip hike. Weather permitting, the hike will be followed by viewing of the moon through a telescope.

Approximately 2 hour hike. Program is free but registration is required. Please go to larimer.org/NRregistration to sign up.

What to Bring: All participants MUST bring a flashlight, water, and closed toe shoes. Dress appropriately for the weather.

Event Description:

Counting birds is as easy as 1, 2, 3! Come learn how to identify birds, use binoculars and turn your backyard into a bird sanctuary. Find out what birds eat and how to feed them. Join us on a bird hike and help us count the birds at our feeders so you can do the same at your home. Bring your kids and help them make their own binoculars and participate in a nature scavenger hunt. Learn the best ways to attract more birds to your yard. We will have a bird-tastic time!
