Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield is a working farm located along the banks of Deer Creek in southern Jefferson County. Bring your binoculars and wander the many trails and see numerous wildflower gardens. The area is known for exceptional bird watching. The Deer Creek Discovery children’s play area allows families to experience Nature through play. Other facilities include the Earl J. Sinnamon Visitor Center, the historic Hildebrand Ranch, a restored 1918 dairy barn and silo, and the 1874 Deer Creek Schoolhouse.

We’re opening 2013 with an interdisciplinary symposium that addresses western landscapes, homes and the real-world lessons from recent history. Experts from different fields of study will show you that anyone’s landscape can be attractive, low maintenance and fire resistant if you design your landscape to defend your home.
