About the Stewardship Site:

Located just north of the Aurora Reservoir on the East side of Denver, the Pronghorn Natural Area is a newly-accessible open space that offers visitors and nearby residents a welcome respite from urban life with a primitive prairie experience and plentiful opportunities to view the namesake Pronghorn Antelope, Mule and Whitetail Deer, as well as various raptor and other bird species.

Plant your very own spring plant to bloom in the summer! This program will teach about the importance of pollinator plants as well as how to plant and take care of your very own flowers.

8 years and older. Class is limited to 15 spaces.

What to Bring: Please wear appropriate outdoor attire for gardening.

Event Description:

Have you ever hiked at Standley Lake and asked yourself, I wonder if that plant is edible? Join, the Urban Forager, Kate Armstrong, to identify wild edibles that you can add to your menu, and also which ones to avoid! Children must be accompanied by an adult. All ages must register for this class through the City of Westminster's Activity Registration Webpage. Section is at the bottom of the registration page.

Cost is $8 per person. All ages. Class is limited to 40 spaces.

Give a plant, take a plant! Come out for our pollinator-friendly plant exchange at the Swim Beach Pavilion and we'll find homes for all your unwanted perennials, annuals, and grasses. All plants must be pesticide-free.

Home to Greeley's annual Firefly Night Walk, the McCloskey Natural Area preserves an open space along the Sheep Draw Trail in the middle of suburban Greeley. As part of a regional trail system connecting to the Poudre River Trail, the area is popular with walkers, hikers, bikers and nature lovers.
