Standley Lake is pleased to host "Westy Family Camp Night". Come out and enjoy s’mores, snores and a day full of activities with your loved ones! This unique camp program is perfect for all family members and will include exciting nature and recreational related activities (volleyball, slacklining, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding), overnight camping, hot dog cook out, breakfast bagels, and park admission. A schedule with all the available activities will be sent to you a week before the scheduled camp night.

What to Bring: You will receive a program itinerary a week before the scheduled event.

Owls, bats, and spiders oh my! Learn about the animals and things that tend to spook us on Halloween. Wear your favorite costume and take a guided fall walk at Standley Lake. End the walk with pumpkin carving and take it home to show your creativity! You must register for this class through the City of Westminster’s Activity Registration Webpage:

The Audubon Society of Greater Denver invites you and your family to investigate and celebrate owls, the stealthy nocturnal hunters (a.k.a. ninjas of the night!), at our 5th annual HOOTenanny Owl & Bluegrass Festival. Discover the secret life of owls through live owl encounters, crafts, educational activities, and informational displays presented by local non-profit and government organizations. The event is designed with all ages in mind and takes place in the beautiful setting of the Audubon Nature Center at Chatfield State Park.

Come join the Friends of Dinosaur Ridge on Saturday September 12, 2015 from 10AM to 2PM for a free event with hands-on activities including gold panning, fossil sifting, and dinosaur track painting at the Visitor Center! Sluice mining and geode cracking will be available for a fee. Geologists and visiting experts will staff booths about earthquakes and faulting, volcanic eruptions and volcanic ash, landslides and rockfalls, radiation, radon, floods, swelling soils, wildfires, and other hazards. West Metro will participate.
