Event Description:

Backyard Birding for Beginners
Thursday, September 12, 6-8:30 PM

Did you know that there is a vibrant and diverse bird community ready to make your backyard its home? Geared toward beginners but full of information for all backyard birders, this class will help you navigate what you need to know about creating a welcoming bird haven in your own backyard. Master Birder and owner of Front Range Birding Company, Tom Bush, will introduce many of the birds you’re likely to find in your backyard and when you are likely to encounter them. You’ll discover how to use bird feeders, bird houses, plants, and other habitat features to attract a wide variety of native Colorado birds. Examples of bird feed, feeders, houses, and other essential birding accessories will be on hand for inspection. Finally, you will have an opportunity to tour Hudson Gardens’ Songbird Garden to see our very own backyard birds in action!

Class will meet at The Inn at Hudson Gardens.

Registration: $21/member, $24/nonmember. Call the Education Department at (303) 797-8565 ext. 306 or visit shop.hudsongardens.org to register.
