Event Description:

Join Friends of the Peak to improve drainage and repair damage on the trail near Barr Camp. The Pikes Peak Cog Railway has reserved seats for 8 volunteers in the 12:00 noon train. Please be at the station by 11:30 at the latest – the train won’t wait. The group will ride up and unload at Mountain View, then walk over to Barr Camp and work on the trail. The Cog will pick up the volunteers on the train passing Mountain View at 5:15. It’s a long day, but a great way to reach the work area. Just a note, the unusual timing is due to the 12:00 train being the first train of the day because of track maintenance.
During the summer, free parking is available in the back parking lot at Tajine Alami. The free shuttle will take you from Tajine Alami to the Iron Spring Chateau, just below the Cog station.
Free to participate; no experience necessary, minimum age 13 with a parent, 16 without.
For more information or to register go to the Projects page at www.fotp.com, or e-mail .
