Event Description:

Watching prairie chickens boom at dawn is the holy grail of birding in the US. Join South Platte Park for a guided trip to southeast Colorado to watch these once nearly-extinct (and still threatened) birds parade and boom on a private lek. We’ll also explore the Nature and Raptor Center of Pueblo, and other birding havens – John Martin Reservoir and Sand Creek Massacre Historic Site. Price includes transportation, naturalist leadership, lodging, lek tour fees, entrance fees and some meals. Pre-trip meeting will be Wednesday, March 18, 6-7pm.
