Event Description:

Larimer County Natural Resources is hosting their first BioBlitz, a 24-hour species survey to document the diversity of the yet to open to the public Chimney Hollow Open Space. Participate in two different ways:

1) Hike with a Scientist: Saturday, July 12, 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
You’ll have the special opportunity to go out with a research scientist on Saturday to hike on Chimney Hollow Open Space, not yet open to the public, and learn how we gain an understanding of our local open space areas. Data on mammals, plants, butterflies, amphibians and more will be obtained using a variety of methods throughout the Open Space area. Details and registration at www.larimer.org/NRregistration

2) BioBlitz Fair: Saturday, July 12, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Learn the importance of science in for conservation. Check out booths from local groups such as Project Budburst and the Colorado Native Plant Society, learn about BioBlitz results and more! This family-friendly day is all happening at the Larimer County Natural Resources Administrative Offices located northwest of Carter Lake in Loveland.
