Event Description:

Join Friends of the Peak to improve this increasingly popular route to the summit of Pikes Peak. Work will be on an area below the summit boulder field, at around 13,000 feet. Volunteers will work to repair and stabilize the trail, close and restore switchback cuts, and prevent future erosion problems. Be prepared for the altitude and colder weather. The group will carpool up the Pikes Peak Highway to a pullout near the work area and hike in from there. The trail is a short hike from the Highway. Work will end at 3:30, and volunteers should be back to their cars around 4:30.
Free to participate; no experience necessary, minimum age 13 with a parent, 16 without.
