Event Description:

Don’t miss out on goat milking, basil harvesting, tomato picking and pizza making, plus plenty of walking to burn it all off.

It’s getting pretty obvious: the local food movement is not going away any time soon. And nor should it! So why not take the opportunity to get to know a fun and diverse neighborhood on foot while collecting locally sourced ingredients to fill the table at your own pizza party? That’s a no-brainer.

Join host and expert walker Jonathon stalls as he guides you along the trails and roadways of Wheat Ridge and through the gates of some of Colorado’s leading local food producers and urban farms. You’ll stop at Five Fridges Farms and Yarrow Farms with lovely Colorado scenery all along the way. Then you’ll end your journey at Right Coast Pizza where you will make your own goat cheese, basil and tomato pizza (from your just-gathered crop) and enjoy locally crafted libations.

Schedule (Subject to Change)
On June 1st, Walk2Connect will lead a rich excursion through the fields, trails and neighborhoods of Wheat Ridge to explore local food producers and to see where urban farming practices interface with city living. Participants will experience the unique landscape of Wheat Ridge, home to vibrant agriculture, lush greenbelts and a protected wildlife habitat.
