Event Description:

Your home is your haven. This class will introduce attractive and practical landscaping plants that will help to protect your home from wildfire. Simple alternative plants that are less flammable than standard landscape plants will be illustrated and discussed. General principles of fire resistance in plants will be taught so each home owner can make individual choices with good rational and individual tastes. Inexpensive alternatives, such as changing the type of mulch used in current landscaping, the wise use of hardscapes, and good maintenance of landscapes to decrease the fire hazard will be introduced to the public.
$50 member, $60 non member

What to Bring: To enter Denver Botanic Gardens for classes, registrants must bring their registration confirmation. In preparation, Registrants with a specific home or site in mind may visit the site or take notes so they clearly remember their questions and concerns to ask during class.
