Event Description:

Travel back in time and experience life on the high plains through the perspectives of past cultures. Step inside a tipi in our 1837 Cheyenne Indian Camp and compare their furnishings to your own comforts of home. Try your hand (and eye) at archery to see if your family will be well fed or go hungry! Ride the wagon to the 1887 sod homestead and talk with interpreters in period costumes about the daily challenges of pioneer life on the western frontier. We will be cooking on the wood stove, teaching lessons in the one-room school house and the blacksmith will have the forge fired up! Help out with farm chores and feed the animals. There will be interactive demonstrations throughout the event, a kids’ craft and games.
*Reservations NOT required: $5 / member; $10 / non-member

Old Fashioned Fourth of July
Celebrate Independence Day with some old time fun! There will be watermelon seed spitting contests, stick horse races, horseshoes, crafts and more. In Cheyenne camp the focus will be on Native American crafts like beading and quilling.
