The Stapleton Area Transportation Management Association (TMA) and Walk2Connect invite you to the inaugural NE Walk Fest! Join us for an inspiring and fun day of walking activity in two northeast Denver neighborhoods on Saturday, August 24th! Participants will be encouraged to walk from Holly Square in Park Hill on a suggested and well supported 1.5-2hour walking loop taking people through Park Hill and Stapleton neighborhoods. Participants can opt to start and stop where and when they choose. We will be posting our schedule of activities soon!
This year’s NE Walk Fest event is designed to encourage destination-oriented walking behavior within and between Park Hill and Stapleton neighborhoods including retail, transit and recreation centers. By partnering with local businesses and a spectrum of community organizations, NE Walk Fest aims to raise awareness that walking creates more vibrant and safe neighborhoods while improving personal, social and communal health.
Our event will officially kick-off at 9AM at 33rd & Holly (Holly Square in NE Park Hill). Check-in will open at 8AM and walking can begin anytime starting at 9AM. Our event will end at 1PM. We will have many scheduled and themed walking trips taking place throughout the day so please continue checking our website (www.newalkfest.com) and Facebook Page (NE Walk Fest) for updates. Some of our planned walking trips will include (Walk with City Council Members Chris Herndon and Albus Brooks, Herbal Walk, Walk with a local Historian, Architecture Walk and more). We will also have a fun chalk art program happening at Holly Square for the entirety of the event.
