Event Description:

Help restore the Overlook Trail at scenic Lory State Park near Fort Collins.

STEWARDSHIP SITE
Close to Ft. Collins, Lory State Park offers beautiful foothills scenery and opportunities for mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, and more. The 1.2-mile Overlook Trail is a hiking only trail that affords spectacular views of Lory State Park's valley areas and sandstone hogbacks, Horsetooth Reservoir, and the prairies to the east.

VOLUNTEER PROJECT - WHAT & WHY
Help maintain the Overlook Trail by carrying out trail restoration including general trail maintenance, installing rock steps, mono and multi-tiered retaining walls, rolling grade dips, and erosion control structures. We will work with natural materials in the area for long-term sustainability. The hike to the work site will be less than a mile each day.
