Event Description:

Take a walk on the wild side with the Breckenridge Recreation Department, as we spend time hiking and exploring around the wild places of Breckenridge. Being on a mountain trail exposes children to wonders they never thought they would experience. Hikes are made to be especially kid-friendly as we stop for trail-side activities and games. Topics include map and compass use, trail signs, camouflage, animals, plants, backcountry cooking, Leave No Trace principles, and more. Along with planned educational camp activities, we build in time every day for the kids to simply play in the woods. A chance to escape from our busy schedules to experience unstructured time in nature can do wonders for a child's social, physical, and emotional development! Campers meet at the climbing wall in the Breckenridge Recreation Center at 7:55am each morning. No class on Wednesday, July 17th. Open to ages 7-12.

What to Bring: Be sure to bring a rain jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks, water, hiking shoes/boots, and a camera!
