Event Description:

Ever find yourself whittling the day away? Wood carving was an important skill for homesteaders and is still a fun, creative hobby for busy hands. Create your own carving to take home (an ax stuck in a piece of wood). Learn the tools of the trade, safe handling and what to look for in wood grain. All materials and tools will be provided.
Al Vigil is a longtime member of the Colorado Carvers Club and has been involved in his passion of wood carving for over 60 years. He has received numerous awards including the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award.
Bring a sack lunch. Recommended for adults. Youth ages 11 & up may participate if accompanied by a paying adult.
