Event Description:

Majestic Nature Center, Founders and Friends of Two Ponds NWR, Standley Lake Regional Park and other partners, have teamed up to bring you a day full of fun activities for the whole family. Join us for the following day activities to celebrate birds and their migration at Standley Lake Regional Park.

8 a.m.-Denver Audubon Bird Walk
9 a.m.-12 p.m.-Open House Activities (games, face painting, crafts, educational/birding opportunities)
11:00 a.m-12:00 p.m.- Live Animal Education Program

Event Description:

Are you new to waterfowling or would you like to take your game to the next level? This is YOUR opportunity to get ready for waterfowl season this year and show the boys how it's done!

Come join us at Boyd Lake for a hands on workshop with volunteers from Ducks Unlimited. You'll learn about the sport, equipment safety, hunting techniques, post-hunt field meat preparations, how to identify waterfowl, and hear about current conservation efforts for waterfowl within Colorado.

What to Bring: Please bring a hat, water bottle, and wear sunscreen/bug spray as needed. This is an OPEN and FREE event to the public. No registration required, but all vehicles entering the park are required to have a daily ($8) or annual ($70) parks pass. All visitors entering on foot or bicycle have free entry.

Event Description:

Skip the theater and enjoy fireside nature films at the atmosphere of Nature Center! The film is free; the fee is for refreshments. Open to all ages, however, age recommendations are made based on content and vocabulary.
October- My Life as a Turkey. The life and family of wild turkeys will surprise and impress you. Watch what happens when a biologist becomes a mother to a clutch of wild turkeys and raises them to adulthood. Recommended ages 6 and up.

Event Description:

Explore Cooley Lake wildlife area during a naturalist-guided walk. This area has limited public access to protect wildlife. These walks occur the second Saturday of each month, and additionally a few Sunday walks per year will be held. They are available through our Nature Department and take place at South Platte Park from 9:30-11:00 am.

What to Bring: Wear sturdy walking shoes and bring a camera and binoculars.
