Landon Mayer visits Flycasters

One of Colorado's best known fishing guides and authors, Landon Mayer, headlines the March 16th meeting of the Rocky Mountain Flycasters chapter of Trout Unlimited. Mayer calls the South Platte his home river and has been guiding in the area for seventeen years. He is the author of five books and numerous magazine articles.

Despite the significant evolution in the health of the South Platte, the reality of trash and other forms of pollution continue to be an ongoing challenge to the River. In response to this reality and thanks to a grant from the Rose Community Foundation’s “Innovate for Good” initiative, The Greenway Foundation (TGF), in collaboration with Metropolitan State University of Denver’s One World One Water (OWOW) Center, created the Clean River Design Challenge.

We have 10 unique weeks of camp! Each week has a unique theme tied to The South Platte River and our urban waterways. Activities, games, and crafts are tied to the theme and allow campers to engage with and learn about their environment while having fun.
