Join us at Memorial Park/Prospect Lake for this FREE event for kids and adults alike! Experience a variety of outdoor activities such as biking, kayaking, paddling SUP boards, fly fishing, spin fishing, slack lining, mapping, shooting and more! A variety of outdoor businesses and nonprofit agencies will have activities on display for the public to try.

Not into fly fishing? Try spin casting. Maybe you can’t mountain bike. Try a new pedal-assisted electric bike. Maybe you want to learn about mapping. Or perhaps bird watching is more your style.

Get Outdoors Day Colorado and SouthWest Denver Coalition are joining forces to host Safe Summer Kick Off on Get Outdoors Day (SSKO GO), Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Garfield Lake Park from 10am to 3pm. This free, family-friendly event is designed to promote access to healthy and safe outdoor spaces, support under-resourced communities, and celebrate nature exploration.

Join us for Pedal The Plains 2018! Traveling to Kiowa, Bennett, and Limon, this is a fantastic opportunity to volunteer and become immersed in the Eastern Plains of Colorado!

Each September, Pedal The Plains relies on a group of 50-60 volunteers who work together like a well-oiled machine to ensure a safe, rewarding and fun week for all involved. Our volunteers have an incredibly important job and we are deeply indebted to them for their efforts. It is their hard work and diligence that allows The Denver Post Community Foundation to put on a world class event.

What to Bring: In addition to your adventurous and team spirit, please bring: - Clothing appropriate for all types of weather - mornings are chilly on the Eastern Plains, and the sun is hot! Also, closed-toe shoes.

We are hosting the 11th annual National Get Outdoors Day in Colorado on June 9, 2018, at Sloan’s Lake Park in Denver to celebrate National Get Outdoors Month.

National Get Outdoors Day is a free community event and is dedicated to connecting people of all ages and abilities to nature. Events and activities range from paddle boarding, rock wall climbing, biking and fishing to live entertainment and music throughout the day.

Join RMFI and friends for a day of stewardship and recreation at Red Rock Canyon Open Space to celebrate the second annual COLORADO PUBLIC LANDS DAY! Colorado is the first state in the nation to designate our own state holiday to recognize our public lands. Come celebrate with a day of giving back and enjoying the recreational opportunities of one of our local treasured public open spaces!

What to Bring: Bring water bottles and plenty of water, raingear, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a backpack to carry all of your things. Wear long pants and sturdy closed-toed shoes (NO shorts or sandals!). Wear weather-appropriate clothing you do not mind getting dirty.

Join FIBARk and Salida Recreation for land events during the annual whitewater festival! Events include the Tenderfoot Hill Climb, where contestants race to the top of 'S' Mountain and back, 5 and 10 kilometer road races, a 10K Trail Run in the Arkansas Hills Trail System, and Mountain Bike races!
