Join us on Monday, January 18th, from 11:00am-2:00pm for Mullein Madness at Chatfield State Park! We will meet at the Roxborough Cove parking lot, located near the Marina on the east side of the park.
We have plenty of old Common Mullein plants standing around the park and we need your help to kick off our Weed Warrior 2016 season!
The Mullein plants took off during the flood this past season and, because of the flood, we were unable to treat and control them.
The work involved requires clipping and carefully bagging the seed heads of the Mullein and then clipping the stalks at the base of the plants. This will help stop the spread of seeds and eliminate the sight of the tall dead stalks of this invasive species.
We will have clippers, bags, and buckets available. Please bring gloves if you have any and plenty of water.
