Join us at Memorial Park/Prospect Lake for this FREE event for kids and adults alike! Experience a variety of outdoor activities such as biking, kayaking, paddling SUP boards, fly fishing, spin fishing, slack lining, mapping, shooting and more! A variety of outdoor businesses and nonprofit agencies will have activities on display for the public to try.

Not into fly fishing? Try spin casting. Maybe you can’t mountain bike. Try a new pedal-assisted electric bike. Maybe you want to learn about mapping. Or perhaps bird watching is more your style.

Event Description:

Ron Belak. author of Fly Fishing Colorado's Backcountry will be the guest presenter at Rocky Mountain Flycasters Guest Night November 20th.

Belak says, “It was 40 years ago when I first wet a line in a high-mountain lake, and I was hooked forever.” He has been writing, lecturing and teaching how-to techniques ever since. His expertise has been the subject of videos and numerous magazine articles.

The meeting will take place at the Ft Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive. Social hour and a fly tying demonstration begin at 6:15, with the program at 7:00 pm.

Bobcat Ridge Natural Area, meet at the parking lot.
Enjoy a brief, family-friendly astronomy program followed by skygazing. Volunteers from the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society provide telescopes for your viewing pleasure. Dress warmly, bring water and a blanket or chair to sit on in the parking lot. Program begins at the picnic shelter, a 0.25 mile-walk. Please arrive on time! The gate closes shortly after start time and parking is not allowed on the road outside the gate. Free, registration required at fcgov.com/register

Event Description:

Join Rocky Mountain Flycasters members, families and friends and celebrate completion of the 2019 conservation field-work season with a picnic and fishing Sunday October 6th at The Mishawaka amphitheater in Poudre Canyon.

Beginning at 3:00 pm attendees will be able to fish sections of the Poudre around The Mishawaka usually off limits to the public.

Burgers, brats and non-alcoholic drinks are included for $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. A cash bar will be available.

This event is open to anyone interested in river conservation.

Mark Foley of First Cast Fly Fishing will present “Do It Yourself Fly Fishing in Argentina” at the Rocky Mountain Flycasters season opening general meeting Wednesday September 18. It is free and open to the public.

Foley is a Trout Unlimited life member and certified casting instructor. A former lodge manager in Argentina, he once spent a year hiking and fishing the Andes mountains from Tierra del Fuego to the Bolivian rainforest. www.firstcastflyfishing.com
