Join us at Memorial Park/Prospect Lake for this FREE event for kids and adults alike! Experience a variety of outdoor activities such as biking, kayaking, paddling SUP boards, fly fishing, spin fishing, slack lining, mapping, shooting and more! A variety of outdoor businesses and nonprofit agencies will have activities on display for the public to try.

Not into fly fishing? Try spin casting. Maybe you can’t mountain bike. Try a new pedal-assisted electric bike. Maybe you want to learn about mapping. Or perhaps bird watching is more your style.

2020 Annual Fund-Raising Fly Tying Expo Wednesday February 19, 2020 from 5:30 to 9:00 pm
Two dozen professional and experienced tiers demonstrate their skills and share tips on tying and fishing their signature flies.
• Food provided with your entry fee
• Beginner’s table to learn tying your own flies
• Random drawings for each tier’s flies and a fly rod
• Live and silent auction with many quality equipment items, supplies, books, art, etc.

What to Bring: Bring your appetite and curiosity for fly fishing!

Event Description:

“The water holds no scars” is the motto of the Platte Rivers Veterans Fly Fishing program. The program provides free basic fly fishing, fly casting, fly tying, rod building classes, and fishing trips for veterans of all fishing abilities.
Joe O’Connor, president of the program will present more information at the January 15th meeting of Rocky Mountain Flycasters, a co-sponsor of the program. The meeting will take place at the Ft Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive. Social hour and a fly tying demonstration begin at 6:15, with the program at 7:00 pm.
