Event Description:

Sunday, June 2nd
Not all rock was created equal; The Orchestra is living proof. With a pedigree reaching into the ‘70s and ‘80s as the Electric Light Orchestra and into the ‘90s as ELO Part II, The Orchestra has launched their 2013 tour, heralding a continuing era of unparalleled symphonic rock. Six members of The Orchestra were part of ELO Part II, with two members--Mik Kaminski (the famous “Blue Violin”) and keyboardist Louis Clark--dating back to the original formation of the Electric Light Orchestra in the 1970s. ELO and ELO Part II, and now The Orchestra, are known as the all-time masters of symphonic rock, with the use of strings, synthesizers, and exquisitely layered vocals. For many people, the “ELO sound” is as close as they will ever get to classical music.

ELO hits from yesteryear are the cornerstone of The Orchestra’s repertoire, including Strange Magic, Evil Woman, Livin’ Thing, Turn to Stone, Sweet Talkin’ Woman, Telephone Line, Ma-Ma-Ma Belle, Do Ya, Mr. Blue Sky and Roll Over Beethoven.

The Orchestra is sponsored by KQMT-FM 99.5 The Mountain.
