The first camp of the summer luckily happens in the spring! These three half day classes from 9 am to Noon all premised upon the ancient way of cooking.

March
Tues. 24 - Pottery: the ancient cooking pot
Wed. 25 - The Power of the Rope
Thus. 26 - Friction Fire

Pottery:
Clay dug from the earth mixed with sand and fired with heat was one of the first containers suitable for cooking. For the stoves of old were all powered by fire. With a little bit of clay and sand, a banquet could be served. Come learn and make some of the oldest cooking ware, and then put it to good use. $30

Rope:
As we use rope every day, we take for granted how it used to be a prized commodity. Learn to make rope with natural and synthetic materials and create a netted bag for carrying those cooking pots and the food you gathered. Come see how strong toilet paper can be in toilet paper tug-a-war.- $15

Fire
Making fire is basic to survival and sets the stage for many other skills, including cooking and firing green clay to become rock hard and useful. We will learn the bow drill friction fire method and fire the pots made on Tuesday. - $15 (only $8 if you came Tuesday)
